Dr. Tracey Curry

A native of Waterloo, Ontario, Dr. Tracey Curry graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1996. She has practiced on the Sunshine Coast, in Williams Lake, and Vancouver. She joined White Rock Optometry in 2002.
Dr. Curry received numerous awards at graduation from Optometry school including the A.W. Cole Award for Clinical Excellence. She is currently involved with a group responsible for setting test questions for the Canadian Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Curry is married to James Sawada, a Technology Education teacher at Earl Marriott Secondary. They have 2 children; a daughter Jayden born in 2003, and a son Rylan in 2005. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and cooking.

Dr. Sally Donaldson

Sally Donaldson grew up in Kamloops, British Columbia. She studied at the University of Redlands, in California, and received her BSc. in Biology in 1991. Sally then moved to the East coast to study Optometry at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, where she received her Doctor of Optometry in 1995. The following year she completed a residency in Primary Care Optometry at the New England Eye Institute.

Dr. Donaldson returned to British Columbia in 1996, and joined the White Rock Optometry Clinic in 2002 where she currently enjoys seeing her patients in private practice. Dr. Donaldson is an elected member of the College of Optometrists of British Columbia.

Sally is married to Dr. Brad Seely, a research associate in Forest Sciences at the University of British Columbia. They have three children, Harry (1998), Liv (2000) and Will (2002).

Dr. Natasha Grewal

Natasha Grewal grew up in Surrey, British Columbia. She attended the University of British Columbia and obtained her B.Sc. in Biology in 2008. She then moved to Oregon to pursue Optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry and graduated with honors in 2012. After graduating she returned home to British Columbia and joined the White Rock Optometry Clinic in 2012. Special areas of interest for Natasha include ocular disease and vision therapy.

Outside of seeing patients, Natasha enjoys hiking, golfing, hot yoga, reading and spending time with family.

Dr. Juliana Jarvis

Juliana Jarvis is originally from Southern California. She attended the University of California, San Diego where she graduated with honors, obtaining a B.Sc in Human Biology in 2009. She then moved to New York City to study at the State University of New York, College of Optometry. In 2012, Dr. Jarvis completed an externship at the Veterans Affair hospital in Tucson, Arizona. She graduated in 2013 with a Doctor of Optometry degree.

After graduating, Juliana married her husband, Matt Jarvis, who was born and raised in Surrey, B.C. It didn’t take much convincing for her to relocate back to the West Coast and decide to call beautiful B.C. her new home. Juliana joined the team at White Rock Optometry Clinic in 2014. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, learning to golf, spending time with family, and playing with her Corgi puppy named Toby.

Dr. Kelsey Snow

Dr. Kelsey Snow was born and raised in BC, where she completed her Bachelor of Science with distinction in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Simon Fraser University. Dr. Snow graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo Optometry program, where she was awarded the Ontario Association of Optometry Award for “Excellence in Patient Management,” as well as the CooperVision Contact Lens Award. Her final year of externships included a term at OMNI Eye Specialists in Baltimore, MD, where she worked closely with ophthalmologists specialized in glaucoma, retina, anterior segment, and oculoplastics.

Dr. Snow is passionate about giving back to the less privileged and has participated in two optometric service trips to date (Paraguay in 2013 with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and Jamaica in 2015 at the Foundation for International Self Help). Locally, she has volunteered her time giving eye exams at Burnaby Homeless Connect. She looks forward to future outreach opportunities, internationally and in her local community.

She lives with her husband in Vancouver and is enjoying being back on the west coast, where she can spend time outdoors bike riding, hiking, skiing, and running with her dog, Maxi.

Dr. Renu Saran

Dr. Renu Saran joined White Rock Optometry Clinic in 2016. Prior to joining our office she practiced in Coquitlam for 8 years. Born and raised in the greater Vancouver area, she attended Simon Fraser University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She went on to pursue her Doctorate at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR and graduated in 2008.

During her clinical rotations she gained valuable experience in ocular disease and eye surgery co-management at Walla Walla Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Pacific Cataract Laser Institute in Bellevue, WA.

She currently resides in Surrey with her husband and son.

Dr. Melanie Sherk

Dr. Melanie Sherk founded White Rock Optometry Clinic in 1982. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as an Optometrist for 39 years. Directorship on the board of the BC Doctors of Optometry and the CEO and Board Director of the Eye Recommend organization rounded out her professional life.

She retired in 2018 confident that her patients would be well cared for by Dr. Juliana Jarvis who took over for her.

Retirement for her includes travel, hiking, cycling, golfing and taking up new hobbies and activities.

Dr. Cindy Anderson

Dr. Cindy Anderson became one of the founding members of White Rock Optometry Clinic when she joined forces in 1984 with Dr. Melanie Sherk.

Cindy had the pleasure of loving what she did and never viewed her time at the office as “work”. She feels honored and humbled to have provided eyecare in a wonderful community.

Cindy proudly volunteered her time with Third World Eyecare Society (TWECS) projects in Tanzania, Kenya, The Philippines, and Nepal. She will continue her involvement with TWECS in her retirement.

You will also be able to find her at home in her garden or kitchen…on the tennis court…at the gym…mountain biking…or at Green Lake.

Cindy is delighted to have Dr. Kelsey Snow take her place and care for her patients.

Dr. Tracy Ertel

Dr. Tracy Ertel retired at the end of July 2014.

She enjoyed caring for her patients here at White Rock Optometry and was known for her professional good nature and infectious smile.

She is pleased that Dr. Natasha Grewal has continued providing exceptional eye care for her patients.

Her retirement plans include hiking, biking, running around on the beach with her dog, traveling and, of course, snorkelling with her husband.

Dr. Lauren Hill

Dr. Lauren Hill moved back to Ontario in summer of 2016. While we were sad to see her go we were happy to welcome Dr. Renu Saran to our team!
