At White Rock Optometry, we believe great eye care starts with great tools. That’s why our clinic is equipped with some of the most advanced imaging and diagnostic systems available. These technologies help us detect issues earlier, personalise your care, and make every visit as comfortable and efficient as possible.
From ultra-widefield retinal photography to precise corneal mapping, each device plays a key role in giving you a clearer picture of your eye health.
Maestro2 OCT
The Maestro2 is an OCT–Fundus Camera system that automatically aligns, focuses, and captures images with a single touch.
Why it’s important: This advanced scanner produces detailed cross-sectional images of the retina, optic nerve, and front of the eye. These images allow us to detect conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease in their earliest stages.
What you’ll experience: You’ll rest your chin on the support while the camera takes quick, painless, contact-free images.
Optos Daytona
The Daytona is an ultra-widefield retinal imaging device that captures a high-resolution image of the back of your eye in one shot.
Why it’s important: It allows us to see areas that traditional cameras often miss, making it easier to spot subtle changes and track them over time.
What you’ll experience: A brief flash of light while you focus on a target – usually without the need for dilation.
Optos Monaco
The Monaco combines a 200° retinal image with OCT scanning, showing both the surface and cross-section of the retina in less than half a second.
Why it’s important: By combining two scans into one, we can diagnose and monitor eye conditions more quickly and accurately.
What you’ll experience: A comfortable, non-contact scan that’s over in moments.
Humphrey FDT Visual Field Analyzer
This visual field test checks how well you can see in your side (peripheral) vision.
Why it’s important: Side-vision loss can be an early sign of glaucoma and certain neurological conditions.
What you’ll experience: You’ll press a button whenever you see faint flashes of light in your peripheral vision – quick, simple, and non-invasive.
Topcon MYAH
MYAH is a multi-function device that measures eye growth (axial length), maps the cornea, and evaluates tear quality.
Why it’s important: It’s an essential tool for myopia management in children, fitting specialty contact lenses and diagnosing dry eye syndrome.
What you’ll experience: A series of short, comfortable measurements – no drops or direct contact with the eye.
